I saw Mary Therese Murphy’s work in an arts cooperative in Central Wisconsin this summer on vacation. Her use of fiber, color and texture to create an image was really inspiring.
Welcome to Honors Fibers! We have an exciting semester ahead of us. We are going to explore thread in various ways, from creating our own textiles, to manipulating existing textiles, to lastly putting together compositions using both thread and fiber. The course will challenge your approaches to art making and will walk a line between craft and fine art.
This site is a housing of all the resources used for the techniques and approaches we will tackle during this course. It is there as a recourse for YOU to use to help guide and reaffirm the direction of your work.
